Here's one of a kid that thought we were admiring his skating prowess. --Marcelo
After lunch, Sketch Club identifies a person of interest, usually for their unique or distinct characteristics. The subject is briefly studied without drawing. Once back from lunch and back at the drawing board, the subject is drawn from memory.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Sketchclub has the distinct honor of having it's very first intern! OK, Jed is actually Sony Animation's first intern, and he's been joining the Sketchclub crew on Friday's as they head off to do some "clubbing."
This is a weird fashion statement that I have not gotten used to in the 20 or so years that it has become popular. It's sort of like taking the Charlie Chaplin baggy trousers and oversized shirt, and trying to look cool wearing it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce the newest member of Sketchclub, Craig Harris.
Yes, Sketchclub had gone into the 'Winter" of its run, and now the Spring thaw has brought blossoms out of the twigs of its yesterday.
The Sketchclub management picked this guy as our "mark" for our memory sketch as he walked into the restaurant.
I used to laugh at those guys on the street corner holding up those signs, "JESUS IS COMING." But, after seeing this guy, I had to make sure my "house" was in order! (Hmm, I thought he'd be taller.)
This is from our guest artist, Roland Ilagan, who flew all the way from Orlando, Florida just to sketch with us (well, at least that's what I want to think). He is an alum of Disney Florida as a Clean-up lead and you can check out his blog at http://rolandmechael.blogspot.com/. It was definitely a treat to have him and here's his take on the no. 12...16...or 19?! guy.
This has been the largest Sketchclub session ever! There were nine Sketchclub members sketching, so the club members had to spread out over two separate tables instead of the usual one.
you’ve seen in Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack!
Last Friday, we had the distinct privilage of having guest artist Jeremy Spears join us for Sketchclub. Can you believe it, he drove all the way from San Luis Obispo to sit in on one of our outings! Jeremy is a terrific cartoonist -- as this drawing would attest.
Here's a mark from Friday.

No kidding, she was wearing a pirate hat!
