So that was it, another cool sketchclub session is over and now we have to pickaWOOAHOHOHO!! wait a second!, here he comes, this -is-it!
We all agreed the moment we saw him walking really fast, trying to get somewhere!

This is what I call logical study within one sketch. The cross two lines between the arm (right of the viewer) and the torso is very meaningful. The diagonal line up the torso defines the arm then it extends down to the right to give the feeling of a floating shirt then the vertical line which defines the torso moves straight down to give the feeling of the baggy pants which clearly get along with the angle of the upper leg. As if the movement overlaps with the lines. I like this kind of stenography. It all comes out from two jotted cross lines. This what they call luck and I call it talent.

I think the colour of the background just emphasizes the sense of hurry and movement. And the hot afternoon. And the way the lines go (you know, I swear I'm in love with your lines, they're so evocative with the simplest few strokes) it really gives that solid, blocky, 'Yo, move it I'm in a hurry!' sense of urgency and motion.

Oh, and don't ask me why either but the song 'There (s)he goes, just a walkin' down the street singing do wa didy didy dum didy do...' popped into my head as soon as I saw him.
