This was our first subject. I don't know what this guy does for a living, I'm going to guess he's a former TV detective from the 1970s.

Thanks for the posting. This guy was a lot of fun to draw. What a character, the minute Stephen and I saw him, we knew we had to draw him. That's what started this whole memory sketch game. As soon as we got back to the office, we had to put him down on paper.

I've been playing the "memory sketch game" by myself for years, however in a completely unrelated way. I would go to life drawing classes, and then the next day try to recall a pose I had drawn the night before and redraw it from my memory ... obviously without looking at my old drawing. In that way, I could test myself and see how much of the anatomical information was sticking in my head.

Mind you, these were more realistic type drawings, not caricatures. It was/is and interesting exercise because I would run into a whole slew of problems very different than when I was drawing directly from the model.
