When we were observing the mark, there
was a shout and she turn. In this illustration,
I wanted to expressed a moment of apprehension.

The blue sketch was my memory sketch. I then decided to look at reference and do a lil painting : )

Everybody Quiet on the Set!

Ya know, some people just look like movie stars.

Introducing Jane Lulu Liu

Lulu is one of our interns at Sony this summer, and we've been fortunate enough to have her join our sketch club. Here's one of the marks from a week ago. You can see some more of her work at her blog.

Sk8r Boy

His board was all over the place, even in the street! -  8.9.13 mark

LYFE or Death?

The air was hot, the birds celebrated the glorious joy of the sun's beat as they darted back and forth from in-between the roses. But still that couldn't explain the chill I felt on this afternoon in July.

From the corner of my eye I saw what my ears already knew. It was the cloppity-clop of tiny heels beating down on the warm sidewalk like a funeral dirge. My eyes feasted on this procession of these two, young, budding, flowers enveloped in morbid gloom.

To add humor to this entire episode, they were headed to a restaurant called LYFE!

Legs for Days

She was fabulous - 7.26.13 mark.

I am excited about how this one came out.

Starting to look like Marcelo's style.

This elder man seem to still be young at heart;

still rocking the long hair, fit shirt and pants.

Finally got my scanner working. I did some minor editing on some due to the scan quality.

Beach Pup...

A couple weeks back this pit bull came strolling by our drawing club. I remarked, "There's our memory-sketch!" I emphasized, "NO REFERENCE". It's important to draw what you remember.

(Fact: All dogs in Southern California work-out, and wear stylish sunglasses.)

Happy Sketch Clubers

everybody is happy, well almost everyone...

St. Patrick's Day!

What a little cutie. She looked like she just stepped off the Peanuts comic strip. And, a little green ribbon in her hair too.

I tried something new on this one. Flat colors with white skin. I'm happy with the results. I felt in the zone as I was working on this one.

Blustery Day

Here's my take for the mark. The wind was blowing her hair into her face, so she threw her head back and tried to let the wind push her hair back. I thought to myself, there's the drawing.
